Ludlow Castle Shropshire

Situated between Ludlow and Bridgnorth, The Green Barns are ideally placed for our visitors to explore the surrounding area. Ludlow itself is an attractive medieval market town with many historic buildings,a thriving street market on most days and of course, the castle that stands overlooking the River Teme, protecting the town in earlier times from the threat of Welsh invaders.

Ironbridge Shropshire

Venturing further affield, there are many other interesting towns and villages to discover. Ironbridge, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, allows the visitor to step back in time to the Victorian era at Blists Hill Living Museum, a town complete with streets of shops and small businesses where one often has to step aside to allow horses and carts to pass, or take a peep inside a squatter's cottage to marvel at the way people used to live.

Other places of interest include vintage steam on the Severn Valley Railway, the West Midlands Safari Park,Acton Scott Victorian Farm as featured on TV, the Elan Valley reservoirs and visitor centre and the Royal Airforce Museum at Cosford where you can get close to all kinds of aircraft and it's free except on airfield event days!
